CodeMountain Inc. or one of its affiliates brands (“we” or “smbCoach” or « Pixeltrail ») has prepared this Privacy Statement (the “Statement”) and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Statement sets out how we collect, use and store personal information about users of any website we hold (each, a “smeCoach Website”). This Statement takes into account the requirements of federal and provincial privacy laws and reflects our ongoing commitment to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Statement is a shortened version of our Privacy Policy, which you can access by clicking here.

  1. What is “personal information”?

Personal information is information about you that can be used to identify you. Your name, address, e-mail address or telephone number are some examples of personal information. However, the name, address and telephone number of an individual listed in a telephone directory and accessible to the public do not fall within the definition of “personal information” because it is publicly available information. In addition, in some cases, some of this information may constitute business information that is not covered by this Declaration.

  1. Collection of personal information

We do not automatically collect personal information from visitors to the CodeMountain Websites. Personal information is only obtained online if you provide it voluntarily, usually by contacting us by e-mail, entering a contest online, sending a request by contact form, responding to online surveys, participating in a blog or forum, providing feedback or subscribing to web services. You are not required to provide personal information to view the content of a CodeMountain Website. In addition, please be aware that when you share personal information in public areas of a CodeMountain Website, this information may be viewed and used by other users. We encourage you to exercise discretion when sharing personal information in such areas.

If you choose not to provide us with personal information online, no material consequences will result, although you may not be able to participate in certain promotional offers, receive product information or use portions of a CodeMountain Website that require personalized information or applications.

The CodeMountain Websites may use cookies to track user visit patterns. A cookie is a small data file that some websites place on your computer’s hard drive when you visit them. It can only contain information that you provide yourself. It cannot read data from your hard drive or cookie files created by other sites. CodeMountain does not link this information to individual user data and does not share this information or sell it to third parties. We use cookies only to personalize the experience of visitors to CodeMountain Websites. If you prefer not to receive cookies from CodeMountain websites, you can adjust your browser settings to notify you before accepting cookies and you can decline the cookie when your browser notifies you of its presence. You can also configure your browser to refuse all cookies. However, this may restrict the sections of the CodeMountain Website to which you have access.

We may use software that receives and records the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the computer that has contacted the CodeMountain Websites. We do not attempt to link these addresses to the identity of individuals visiting the CodeMountain Websites.

We may also use the services of service providers to serve third party ads on CodeMountain Websites or CodeMountain ads on other websites. When such ads are placed, these providers may place cookies in your computer’s browser and collect certain anonymous information about your visits to other websites or to CodeMountain Websites. This information may include the type of browser, IP address, domain name and web page name from which you entered such sites, your web activities and time. This information is used to better understand and optimize online advertising campaigns.

From time to time, we analyze traffic and use the CodeMountain Websites to determine what features and services people like and dislike, in order to improve what we do. We prepare aggregated statistics or summaries of information to describe our services to third parties such as business partners and potential advertisers as well as for other lawful purposes.

Some of our agents and contractors are located outside Canada and are therefore subject to foreign laws that may require the disclosure of personal information to government agencies in their country.

  1. Consent

By providing us with personal information about you, you consent to our collection, use and disclosure of such information as described in this Statement as amended from time to time, or as described before or at the time of collection, use or disclosure, as the case may be. If you do not want your personal information collected, used or disclosed in this way, please:

You must not provide us with personal information ;

Exercise the opt-out option described above or offered at the time of collection of your information; or
