Tools we use and love

Building a website or a strategy is like climbing a mountain. Sure, there’s a basic gear, but the quality of the equipment you use is going to impact the final ascent. Here are some of our favourite tool:

  • Phonegap

    HTML5 mobile platform

    PhoneGap is an HTML5 app platform that allows you to author native applications with web technologies and get access to APIs and app stores. PhoneGap leverages web technologies we already know best… HTML and JavaScript.

  • JQuery/JQuerymobile

    Javascript power

    We love JQuery. With it, we can write powerful Javascript functionality quickly, efficiently and cross-browser compatible. JQuery enables us to animate the web page while also keeping it within web standards and avoiding Flash. With JQuery Mobile, we can write powerful mobile apps optimized for touch-screen devices that mimick the feel of iPhone and iPad apps.

    Server side javascript

    We are currently ramping up to start delivering projects with this awesome technology. Node.js is a platform built on Chrome’s JavaScript runtime for easily building fast, scalable network applications. Node.js uses an event-driven, non-blocking I/O model that makes it lightweight and efficient, perfect for data-intensive real-time applications that run across distributed devices.

    ExpressionEngine is a flexible, feature-rich content management system built on open-source technology. We use EE to allows our client to easily manage their own websites, and allows for future expandability.

  • Google Analytics

    Google Analytics is a fantastic, free tool that enables site administrators to measure all traffic arriving at their site – where it’s coming from, when it’s arriving, how long visitors are staying, and what content they’re seeking out. We install it free of charge on each site we build and can help orient you to the reports.

    CodeIgniter is a powerful PHP framework with a very small footprint, built for PHP coders who need a simple and elegant toolkit to create full-featured web applications. As a LAMP shop (Linux, Apache, PHP and MySQL), we use Codeigniter as our in-house toolkit for custom web applications.
